Preserving a famous sign – and giving a town the donuts it deserves
LONG BEACH DUNKIN' DONUTS
Long Beach
In 2013, Frontier acquired two dilapidated buildings — a liquor store and a donut shop — at a high-profile intersection in Long Beach, California, and began redevelopment of the site. At the request of the community, the team went to great lengths to preserve the historic landmark donut sign, working with a local signage company to install vintage neon, and brought in national donut leader, Dunkin’ Donuts. For this, its first project in the city, Frontier received the Long Beach Historic Preservation Award in 2016.
