208 new entry-level condos, plus shops and restaurants, coming to Stanton
More than 200 condos, along with a variety of shops and restaurants, will be built on the site of the Village Center, a retail ghost town that never recovered after the Great Recession.
The mixed-use development along Beach Boulevard will include homes considered “affordable” in pricey Orange County. The 208 condos are expected to range from the low $400,000s through the $600,000s, according to Brookfield Residential, the developer.
The homes, Lantana @Beach, will have from about 730 square feet to 1,843 square feet, with one to three bedrooms, and will include patios and decks. Robert Hidey Architects, based in Irvine, is the designer.
A gated entry, swimming pool, outdoor party and barbecue space and a tot lot are among the planned amenities.
Orange County analyst Steven Thomas of the bi-weekly Reports on Housing applauded the news.
